So after my last post I took a good long look at the options on Ableton and have decided not to upgrade my existing Ableton license for Live Lite 7 but to purchase a new license for Live 9 Intro. My reasoning is that right now what I really need is the ability to sync my outboard gear to the MIDI clock. With the new Ableton License for Live Intro 9 I'll also get another send/return track, 16 MIDI and audio tracks, and 8 scenes. While not exactly what I would like, the Intro version will expand my current capabilities with Live and fits within my current budget, I can't use my existing outboard gear to its fullest potential and this option moves me the most in that direction for least amount of money. Once I've exercised the options the Intro version provides me I'll look at my upgrade options from there. I know in the long run I might end up paying more but I don't know that for sure at this point.
